Mark Muckerheide

Managing Director, Ground Up Investing

Mark Muckerheide is Managing Director of Ground Up Investing at Corus International, where he leads the strategy and growth of Corus’s market-based investment businesses, including Farmers Market Brands. 

Mr. Muckerheide is a member of Corus’s senior leadership team and a global business and development executive with more than 25 years of experience across for-profit and nonprofit sectors, with deep expertise in building and scaling market-based solutions that drive sustainable economic growth and impact. 

Prior to joining Corus, Mr. Muckerheide held multiple senior leadership roles at CARE USA, where he led global programs spanning food and water systems, health, financial inclusion, and education and workforce development. His roles included Associate Vice President for Development Programs and Associate Vice President for Financial Inclusion, where he focused on strategy, innovation, and market-based approaches to development. 

Previously, Mr. Muckerheide founded and led CARE Social Ventures, CARE’s for-profit arm, overseeing impact investing, social ventures, and advisory services designed to advance inclusive economic growth. 

Before joining CARE, Mr. Muckerheide spent 20 years at Target Corporation, where he held senior leadership roles across brand management, merchandising, and sustainability. His experience included leading large consumer-facing business units as well as directing sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiatives as Director, Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility. 

Mr. Muckerheide also serves on the Board of MicroVest, a microfinance investment firm, and brings a strong governance and investment perspective to his work advancing Corus’s market-based approach to impact.
