We help children,
women, and men gain
the knowledge and
skills they need
to unlock opportunity.
Education equips children, youth, and adults with the skills and knowledge required to participate fully in society, pursue meaningful work, and improve their lives. Corus International expands access to quality education and lifelong learning opportunities in underserved communities so people can build better futures for themselves and their families.
Around the world, millions of children lack access to school, and countless adults lack the marketable skills required to support their households. Women and youth are often disproportionately excluded, limiting both individual opportunity and community development.
Corus International works to close these gaps by bringing education and skills development to communities that have been left behind. We partner with governments, school systems, communities, and businesses to improve school attendance and retention for children, ensure women and men develop marketable skills, and strengthen workforce performance for the long term.
How Corus International
works in education
What We Do
Build smarter education data systems
We design easy-to-use digital platforms that track enrollment, student and teacher attendance, and resource distribution. With clearer data, decision-makers can identify challenges early, respond quickly, and ensure more children stay in school and keep learning.
Use technology to reach more people
We create practical digital tools that deliver learning content and support at scale. From mobile apps that provide real-time guidance to flexible platforms tailored to community needs, our solutions help people access the information that matters most to them — when and where they need it.
Grow local skills and confidence
We work alongside local partners to build the skills, leadership, and innovation needed to sustain progress. By strengthening local capacity, we help communities pursue their own goals and continue improving learning outcomes long after our support ends.

Spotlight: Cash Assistance Helping Girls Stay in School in Sierra Leone
Independent research — including studies from our own Corus International team — shows that cash assistance can meaningfully increase school enrollment in communities facing poverty or crisis. After seeing this model quadruple girls’ enrollment in South Sudan (2014–2021), we are now applying similar strategies in Sierra Leone.
In partnership with the government of Sierra Leone, Corus pairs cash assistance with purpose-built technology and hands-on family support to help girls enter and remain in school. Using a custom management information system, the program identifies out-of-school girls or those at risk of dropping out, then works directly with parents and school leaders to set up mobile money accounts for conditional transfers tied to consistent attendance.
Corus also addresses non-financial barriers by linking girls and families to services that support health, safety, and well-being — enabling better attendance and learning outcomes.
Early results from the 2024–2025 school year show:
- Attendance rose across all age groups receiving support
- Impact was 6x greater for girls 14–16, who face the highest dropout risk
- Families used the cash for essentials like food, transportation, menstrual supplies, and uniforms
Satisfaction is high: 87% of caregivers were “very satisfied,” and 89% saw indirect benefits for other children. By combining technology, financial support, and community engagement, Corus is helping girls stay in school today and pursue new opportunities tomorrow.
