2023 Humanitarian Response: War in Ukraine

To respond to the complex humanitarian crisis that emerged from the February 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Corus International committed more than $13 million to meet the short-term and early recovery needs of the most vulnerable in Ukraine and refugees in Poland. Our response included cash transfers, shelter support, non-food items (NFI) and food distribution, health care and psychological support services through primary care facilities and a mobile clinic, mainstreamed protection and gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and mitigation, and expansion of the Ukrainian government's electronic platform for registering to receive aid.

In 2023, Corus organizations Lutheran World Relief and IMA World Health continued much of this work in Ukraine's Western and Eastern regions and launched new early recovery livelihood programming, reaching more than 50,000 Ukrainians. This report details highlights from our work throughout 2023.
