    Education

At Corus, we believe there are five fundamentals everyone needs to survive. Having the resources and support to develop knowledge is one of these fundamentals.

Corus International collaborates with governments, the private sector, school systems, and local communities to transform education systems and increase access to technologies and wrap-around support services that can equip individuals with the knowledge they need to thrive.

Our approach to empowering future generations through education revolves around three strategic pillars

  • Protective education to keep children in school: Corus keeps children enrolled and learning through cash transfers, attendance monitoring, child labor and drop-out prevention, re-enrollment support, skills training, and school feeding.

  • Systems strengthening to enable quality education delivery: Corus builds national capacity through education data systems (EMIS), teacher workforce management, and evidence-based policy and planning.

  • Building resilience to maintain education access during shocks: Corus ensures education access is maintained during crises and external shocks and linked to social protection to support families.

Corus leverages the expertise and decades of experience of its subsidiary organizations, CGA Technologies and Lutheran World Relief, to advance access to education.

These organizations specialize in the following technical intervention areas:

  • Cash and voucher assistance
  • Social protection
  • Education policy and planning
  • Positive youth development
  • Monitoring, evaluation, research and learning (MERL)
  • Development and dissemination of teaching and learning materials
