We believe that gender equity is not just a goal—it's a necessity. That's why we were proud to be part of the 2023 Women Deliver conference, where we shared our insights and collaborated on innovative approaches for advancing gender equality across the globe.

Together, we can build a future where every woman and girl has the opportunity to thrive.

At Women Deliver, we celebrated women changemakers around the globe who champion inclusive sustainable livelihoods, health care access and local capacity strengthening in their communities.

Meet Rosette

Corus Changemaker Rosette is a doctor in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who is breaking gender barriers and preventing gender-based violence (GBV) in her community. She supports survivors of violence with trauma counseling and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) while ensuring women are referred to appropriate care through our Tushinde Ujeuri project.

Funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Corus organization IMA World Health, the Counter-Gender Based Violence Program (known locally as Tushinde Ujeuri) establishes community-based networks in the DRC to prevent and respond to GBV with the goal of combatting stigma, reducing violence and improving care for survivors.

Meet Libranita

Corus Changemaker Libranita is a charismatic leader in the Cinta Rakyat community of North Sumatra, Indonesia. She takes part in the Multisectoral Collaboration for Inclusive Health & Opportunities for Women (MECIHO) project, made possible by funding from The Starbucks Foundation.

Through the MECIHO project, Corus organization Lutheran World Relief expands women's leadership and civic engagement and improves mechanisms and services that support the advancement of healthier homes and improved living conditions. Complementing the Indonesian government’s nutrition and stunting interventions, the MECIHO project responds to significant needs in coffee-growing communities in Karo Regency where one in four households lack clean water, sanitation challenges endanger public health and current systems of local governance regularly exclude women.

Meet Daria

Corus Changemaker Daria is a key member of the women-led Qori Warmi cocoa cooperative in Peru. While improving household income and championing women’s inclusion, Daria and her husband are also passing on their passion for cocoa to their kids.

In the VRAEM region of Peru, one the country’s poorest and the epicenter for coca leaf production for illegal cocaine, Corus organization Lutheran World Relief employs an innovative market systems approach with the Qori Warmi cooperative. By strengthening the resilience of the cooperative and advancing cocoa as an alternative crop in the region, we are committed to advancing women’s leadership and promoting sustainable agricultural livelihoods.
